What can I expect from the distilling workshop?
You become the distiller. Choose a base, combine it with your own aromas and distil your personal creation in a traditional copper alembic still.
Over 90 minutes, you’ll discover the art of distillation and learn how different aromas shape the flavour and character of a spirit. This is a fully hands-on experience: you create, distil and take home a spirit made by you.

The HECHT Fruit Brandy Experience is an interactive introduction to traditional Swiss distilling and the craft behind award-winning fruit spirits.
Through video guides, hands-on experience stations and a guided tasting, you’ll discover how we produce fruit spirits at Hecht Distillerie in Sempach — from the cherry harvest to distillation and bottling.
It’s a short, accessible indoor experience for visitors who want to discover an authentic part of Swiss food and drink culture.
Is the Fruit Brandy Experience a good indoor activity in Lucerne?

Do I need to reserve the Fruit Brandy Experience?
No reservation is required during our regular opening hours.
Capacity is limited to 12 guests at a time and places are available on a first come, first served basis. Arriving early is always a good idea.
For groups of 6 or more, please contact us in advance. Groups of 10 or more can also book an exclusive timeslot outside regular opening hours — get in touch with us directly.

We are Lukas and Kilian Hecht, the third and fourth generation of the Hecht family distillery — a traditional Swiss craft distillery rooted in the Lucerne region.
Since 1939, our family has produced authentic Swiss fruit spirits, shaped by time, tradition and true craftsmanship.
